Maclan DRK 4-Pole 6600kV Brushless Drag Motor | CompetitionX

Maclan Racing has announced their new DRK 4-Pole 6600kV brushless drag motor, an extremely high-power motor setup that has smooth transitions into the DRK stages.

This motor was developed to pair with Maclan’s proprietary DRK 4-Pole Unlock firmware. It has a maximum rating of 75000 RPM, however it does come with a few caveats:

“RC drag race application is extremely abusive on all electronics. This motor produces a lot of power that can shorten the lifespan of drivetrain, ESC, and battery. Incorrect setup can result in irreversible permanent damages on the equipment, or personal injuries. Please read the user manual carefully before use.”

To combat that quote, Maclan recommends a few settings to extract the maximum power while keeping it controlled enough to save the other parts of your car.

What We Like:
Other than the fact that Maclan has released a drag-only motor, we LOVE the warning that it is so powerful it could obliterate the rest of your car. The recommendations are cool as well, but we’re talking drag racing here – we doubt many people are going to adhere to that. Even if it’s not completely true, that’s some pretty brilliant marketing.

What We’re Not Sure About:
Or, we could be wrong and this motor could be powerful enough to melt your ride.
