ProTek R/C’s “TruTemp” Infrared Thermometer

ProTek R/C’s “TruTemp” Infrared Thermometer

The temp gun can arguably be one of the most important tools in RC. Nitro guys use it to tune their engines when the ambient temperature changes; electric guys use it to take note of their motor and ESC temps. It is also a valuable tool when tuning for gearing as well as checking the temp of the racing surface for tire compound changes.

If you don’t have a temp gun (or has been in the market for one), you should give the ProTek RC “TruTemp” Infrared Thermometer a look. This little guy fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and makes checking electric motors, nitro engines, battery packs or any other heat-sensitive items a breeze. Thanks to a bright, backlit LCD display, the screen can be read during the day or at night. It can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius and has a range of between -40°–716°F (-40°C–380°C).

The TruTemp Thermometer features 4 modes:Quick, Scan, Maximum Value and Minimum Value. It also has an auto-off timer to help preserve battery life. It runs on 2 “AAA” batteries that are not included.
