While they have been seriously pushing their offroad program with all the mid-motor releases, Team Associated has snuck a new touring car into the mix. The TC7 is stated to be the most refined TC from the A-Team, using the TC6 as a test bed for the past couple years.
Updates to the new 7-series includes a floating servo system that swings a low-CG steering system. Ackermann has also been refined to improve steering on almost any track condition.
The motor mount has been tweaked as well, moved to a more central location in the chassis to improve chassis flex and gear alignment. This results in increased drivetrain efficiency for better acceleration and a higher top speed.
Other updates include new drive belts, vertical ball stud bearing caps, a rear, fluid-filled gear differential, front spool with replaceable composite outdrives and titanium turnbuckles. Finally, the FT TC7 comes equipped with the Team’s ultra-smooth FOX shocks with Genuine Kashima Coating.
It sounds like the TC7 is going to be a pretty amazing update to the Team’s TC program – we can’t wait to get our hands on one for a complete shake-down.
