With the announcement of their return, Xpress has released a chassis review of the first car in their new lineup – the Xpresso K1. The K1 is a mini-chassis, or K-Chassis, and is modeled after the Kei-Car, or a car which fits in the lowest automotive tax bracket.
This little guy has some pretty cool features, including a carbon fiber main deck, aluminum bulkheads, threaded aluminum shocks and a over-the-top twin carbon fiber support plates in place of a standard top deck. This allows a maximum amount of room in the chassis for electronics and the battery.
The steering has also been optimized for some serious angle and, with a little modification, it can be used as a RWD drift car. Any wheel and tire combo with a 12mm hex will fit, including the current crop of mini-sized hoops.
There are quite a few features on this car and we can’t wait to get our hands on one for a review. We also can’t wait to see what the other new Xpress offerings look like!
