Tamiya has re-introduced the Fire Dragon as a 2020 model. This vehicle has some updates from the 1989 version and rolls on a familiar 4WD platform.
What We Like:
Anything ‘re-issue’ from Tamiya is a great thing – I mean, really, who hasn’t wanted an older kit that has gone out of production? We also like that it has been updated for 2020, including a new aluminum motor mount, adjustable steering turnbuckles, updated suspension system and oil-filled shocks as well as sealed front and rear fluid-filled differentials. To finish the kit, the body is pre-painted in red and ready for you to supply the stickers.
What We’re Not Sure About:
While we’re not 100% sure of this, I’m guessing the chassis has not been modified to accept square-type LiPo batteries, meaning you’re stuck with the shotgun NiMh packs.
