DarkSoul has just announced a slew of new performance parts for the Losi 5IVE-T and Baja trucks. These parts are sure to help get your 1/5 scaler into the winner’s circle! I should know…I run his parts!
DarkSoul Rear Shock Tower for HPI Baja Platform – PN- DSR0077
MSRP – $66.00
Constructed from 6061 T6 aluminum, material was added only where necessary to keep the shock tower lightweight, yet extremely strong.
• All hardware included
• Contructed from 6061 T6 aluminum
• Compatible with the full Baja line.
• Made in the USA
DarkSoul SC Bones for HPI Baja SC – PN- DSR0010
MSRP – $90.00
With our new design, you get many advantages. To start, the drive surface of the pin is 5mm wide, so there is a wide flat surface now pushing on the drive cup. The center part of the v4 cross pins are 6.5mm in diameter, this added diameter allows the pin to self-center inside of the drive cup without being able to slide out in either direction, so no set screws are needed. The cross pin will rotate so there is no binding while the suspension articulates through its range. As well, you can continue to use your stock drive cups, although now that the pins/bones are all but indestructible, you may want to beef up the cups with some TOOBZ.
DarkSoul Billet Vented Clutch Housing – PN-DSR8000
MSRP – $70.00
The new DarkSoul Vented Clutch Housing is extensively machined from 6061 T6 aluminum to be lightweight yet very strong, and offer outstanding cooling for your clutch assembly. This unit was designed with air flow in mind, and with the ability to shed away any dirt or debris that may enter the clutch area, especially when used with our Losi 5ive clutch bell carrier. This clutch housing will however work very well with any large scale RC that utilizes a CY clutch housing such as the Losi 5ive and the HPI Baja platform.
Quick Connect Fuel Connectors – PN- DSR0064
MSRP – $11.00
These simple and inexpensive quick disconnects will allow quick and painless removal of engines or fuel tanks. Not only can you now quickly disconnect the fuel lines from your motor, but no more broken carb fuel fittings trying to pull the tubing off.If you remove your motor, and are not going to be putting another motor in right away, or are swapping out between multiple motors, just run a male and a female off of the tank (and of course on the motor) and plug them into each other so no fuel leaks. The only maintenance required is to wipe off the male side of the connector when dirty, and thats it.
Losi Wheel Nuts, enclosed, Black (set of 4) PN- DSR7030
MSRP – $40.00
DarkSoul Racing’s Losi Enclosed Wheel Nuts. Made from 6061 T6 aluminum, and black anodized with the DS text logo laser engraved onto them.
The DarkSoul wheel nuts use the stock 1.5 pitch thread that Losi uses, so they will work with the stock axles. These wheel nuts also utilize a 24mm hex (as opposed to the stock Losi 25mm hex), so they will work with all existing HPI Baja wheel nut wrenches, which are widely available in many forms from several different manufacturers. However, because of the difference in hub thickness from the Losi to the HPI wheels, these nuts will ONLY work with the Losi wheels. THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH HPI WHEELS.
Clutch Bell Carrier for Losi 5ive – PN- DSR7000
MSRP – $70.00
The DarkSoul Clutch bell carrier is designed for maximum air flow over the clutch and clutch bell to keep everything cool when running larger HP motors. Constructed from 6061 T6 aluminum, the carrier is very strong, and utilizes larger Team Fast Eddy bearings for better strength, and heat resistance. Weighing in at 163g. (vs. 135g. for the stock) this is a very minimal increase in weight, which is more than offset by the benefits of added heat dissipation, superior bearings, and superior strength.
Billet Differential Housings, center (for Losi 5ive) PN- DSR7012
MSRP – $176.00
Billet Differential Housings, front or rear (for Losi 5ive) PN- DSR7011
MSRP – $154.00
The new DarkSoul Racing billet diff housings are machined from 7075 T6* aluminum to give you the strongest possible diff housing we can. We are offering two separate types of housings, the “Standard” housing has the same outer dimensions as the factory housing so it will fit into the front and rear diff cases. The center diff is the “Turbine” style with integrated cooling veins to act as a huge heat sink to keep the center diff cool and consistent.
Utilizing aluminum (as opposed to plastic) you will not have the issues of the plastic diff housing holes stripping out from rebuilds/fluid replacement, or flexing under the torque/HP of more powerful engines which ultimately cause the diffs to leak and give inconsistent performance.
The billet diff kits include a new diff housing and diff cap (2 piece design), required assembly hardware, and a new diff housing to gear gasket. It is required that you use a very small amount of liquid gasket when assembling the diff housing and cap as shown in the included instructions
