Czech based company Elceram has been wow’ing the internet lately with sneak peeks at their new ESC, the Nitride. This ESC has a completely different look than anything else out there – a slightly taller profile, no heatsinks and a small screen on the top face with 3 control buttons.
The biggest thing about this is, of course, the LCD screen on top that not only allows you to see your programming functions, it also displays things like mode, time, battery level and motor and ESC temps. There’s also graphs and histograms of your run – basically how you used the throttle at different areas of the track.
There’s not much info on it just yet (and all of that info is on their FB page), but it does look like an exciting piece of equipment for 1/10 scale!

What We Like:
Firstly, the idea behind this is awesome! Having a LCD display with pertinent info on it eliminates the use of a separate board or tuning box. For Stock racing, the word Stock is SOOOOO much easier to police than a blinking set of lights. We also love the design and small-ish form factor. This IS going to be the look of future ESCs.
What We’re Not Sure About:
Not available yet and, as always, first to market is going to make this pricey…
