A couple weeks ago we brought you a sneak peek photo of a LCG laydown conversion gearbox that Exotek has in the works for the Losi 22 3.0. Well, it’s finally here complete with a whole lot of photos – and it looks awesome!
The outer shell is a machined aluminum case that aligns the 3 internal gears in a straight-line arrangement, keeping a low CG and allowing a smoother rotational flow. A 7075 aluminum motor plate attaches to the outside, machined with fins to help dissipate heat while adding a little bit of flair to the already killer looking assembly. A delrin gear cover keeps the gears safe and a carbon fiber battery strap is included to complete the conversion.
A template is included for drilling 2 new holes in the chassis.
While I don’t have a Losi 22 3.0 (yet), chances are Exotek will be devising a similar solution for all the AE owners out there.
