HPI Baja 5R On-Road Car

HPI Baja 5R On-Road Car

HPI’s Baja has been around for what seems like forever, and it’s still got some kick left in it! Introducing the lastest creation on the Baja platform, the 5R On-Road car!

While the 5R is based on the Baja, its has been given a few fresh updates to handle it’s on-road duties. A new, 4mm thick aluminum chassis has been added as well as an updated suspension system to allow the 5R to ride low. Power comes from HPI’s venerable 23cc engine while control is handled by a new TF-45 2.4GHz radio system. A SFL-11MG servo handles the steering.

Sure, that’s all great, but let’s talk about the star of this ride, the bad-ass 1970 Boss 302 Mustang body! HPI has beautifully replicated this iconic muscle car all the way down to the black racing stripes. A separate rear wing mounts to the back to help keep the rear planted while you’re spinning those great-looking vintage 8-spoke wheels. While the rear thing didn’t have beadlocks, this is an easy way to mount the Tarmac Buster on-road tires and an even easier way to replace them once you’re done doing the massive burnouts!

I’m personally pumped about this car! I smell project Boss 302 the moment this thing lands on my doorstep!!!
