HPI has released pictures of their new Pro 5 Touring Car that was on display at the Nurnburg show in Germany. No release date has been set, nor has any official information, but we took a good, hard look at these pictures can picked out a few key features that should set this TC apart from the HPI’s last touring car, the TCXX.
• Front spool
• Rear gear differential with lightweight outdrives
• A bearing-supported, dual bellcrank steering system
• Carbon fiber steering knuckle extensions
• Floating servo mount
• Aluminum threaded shocks
• Aluminum shock tower braces
• 64p spur gear
• Separate aluminum arm mounts
• Aluminum center gear supports
On thing I find interesting is the milled area on the battery side of the chassis. This, and dual cutouts where the pinion is adjusted, suggest you might be able to the mount the motor on this side of the Pro5, however there are no holes or slots drilled in the electronics side to mount the battery. Guess we’ll have to wait and see about this.
