RC4WD has announced and interesting take on their Trail Finder 2 RTR. This version, the Rust Bucket Edition, comes with a pre-painted Chevrolet Blazer hard body weathered with rust. To add to the overall look, a custom-weathered RC4WD Off-Road Customs design is applied to both doors.
The chassis is a standard TF2, however the wheel and tire combo (Mickey Thompson Classic Lock 1.9″ beadlocks wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires) has been upgraded to complete the Blazer look. Even a NiCd battery and wall charger are included.
What We Like:
With everyone wanting a cool, custom look on their rigs, it’s nice to see ‘something old’ coming directly from the manufacturer. RC4WD did a great job on the rusted body – it looks amazing – and is a great start to a custom build. We’re even liking the tire and wheel combo, much like a real rig where they’re the first purchase during a resto!
What We’re Not Sure About:
Some might think the bumpers, grille, mirrors and shell should match the rusted-look. We thought so, originally, but we figure if you’re doing a restoration, these might be the parts you replace first (like the wheels and tires). If you really want a full rest-bucket edition, you could could do some weathering on these ‘newer’ parts yourself.
