Redcat Racing Gen9 Trail Truck – International Harvester Scout 800A | CompetitionX

Redcat Racing is starting off 2023 with the release of the Gen9 Trail Truck, a new 4WD rig topped with an International Harvester Scout 800A body set.

This new truck has quite a few upgrades under that beautiful body, including a front-mounted motor setup, 2-speed transmission with lockable slipper clutch, divorced transfer case and a 4-link suspension, to name a few. On top, the International Harvester Scout body looks great with its detailed grille, bumpers and roll cage. We’re even digging the little wing windows!

However, Redcat has added something as a standard item we haven’t seen yet in a RTR truck – back-lit capable LED dash gauges!!!! It’s a small feature, but something alot of the scale fanatics will appreciate!

What We Like:
Redcat’s line of trucks get more scale oriented with each GenX release. They may not be the most popular, but the team there certainly strives to be. The detail included in this truck is really top notch – nice body, forward-mounted motor, tilting body system and all the lighting. It’s a well done truck that we think should push other manufacturers to elevate their game.

What We’re Not Sure About:
While we appreciate the look, the International is one of the more boring bodies to choose to put on a trail truck build. Unfortunately…
