Tamiya has a habit of updating their mid-level lineup with ‘R’ version cars – basically adding a bunch of their TRF hop ups to the box to create a full-blown race version. We’re seeing that happen again with the new TB-05R Chassis Kit!
What We Like:
Typically when this happens, Tamiya gives us all the parts we really want to upgrade – shocks, turnbuckles, servo/motor mounts, suspension mounts, etc – allowing us to build a very racey version of that particular car. It really ups the value and performance of that ride, and the TB-05R is one that could benefit from it.
What We’re Not Sure About:
That price though. Ouch. Some dedicated TCS racers will make the plunge seeing as the car is amazing out of the box, but for the normal Joe it might be a bit out of reach.
