Traxxas Trail Truck Leaked Photos

Traxxas Trail Truck Leaked Photos

Well lookie what we have here! There’s been rumors that Traxxas has been dabbling in the trail truck market … apparently it’s a bit more truth than rumor at this point! These photos were pulled from a German Hobby Shop (WEMU RC ScaleShop) revealing what looks to be an actual running model of a soon-to-be-scaler from Traxxas. Let’s see if we can pull some info from the pix!

The servo is mounted up front in the chassis, followed by the transmission that appears to be powered by the venerable Titan motor. Just behind it is the battery tray that extends the length of the chassis. On the left side of the chassis, we spy the ESC and what looks to be a servo, maybe for a two-speed setup. On the right side there is the receiver box – it looks pretty big so there I’ll guess the light controller is in there as well. There also appears to be a pair of mini servos here as well; should be interesting to see what those are for.

The suspension looks standard (3-link rear) with coil over shocks – but what’s getting me is the odd look axles! Traxxas looks to have added some sort of gear-reduction at the wheels. This could also be an attempt to raise the axles more for better ground clearance.

They body, though, is pretty stunning! It looks like a Defender-style with lots of external parts; mirrors, roof rack, light bars and wheel arches. It also appears to have a full set of lights included as well. I’m digging the fuel cans and spare tire on the back.

Mind you, these are all prototype pictures (I”m assuming), so the final rig could be much different. I’m excited to see what the final product looks like!
