XRAY is excited to release the next evolution of the XII, the all-new XRAY 1/12 pan car platform: the X12. Direct feedback from factory team drivers, as well as customers from around the world, allowed the XRAY factory to turn a concept into reality… this is what we do best at XRAY. New battery placement means better car balance and weight transfer, and stiffer chassis material and more robust suspension material creates a car that is significantly easier to drive. By rethinking and then creating a completely new geometry where we elongate the wheelbase and widen the front track-width, we created a car that works exceptionally well for beginners, highly-skilled drivers, and everyone in between. And to make a car even easier to work on, we replaced the side shock with newly-designed side tube lateral dampers. Lowered rear bulkheads and an improved rear axle system allow the use of super-small tires while providing a super-low center of gravity.

New chassis:
• new battery position placement (horizontal) for better car balance and weight transfer
• new harder chassis material to make the car easier and more stable for high bite tracks
• longer chassis for greater wheelbase for better stability
• holes for suspension mounting are wider which create wider width to make car easier to drive
• platform designed and optimized for LiPO batteries and brushless motors

New rear bulkheads:
• lowered rear bulkheads to allow the rear axle to move lower which allows to use smaller tire diameter and allows to move lower the weight

New rear axle:
• new system of steel part mounting into the graphite tube makes the rear axle more durable

New front suspension:
• lower, upper arms and steering blocks made from harder material to make the car easier to drive and more forgiving mainly on high bite tracks
• plastic balls for king pin are used for smoother steering

New side tubes:
• side tubes replace side shock for smoother and more consistent operation

New side springs:
• are placed directly to chassis for smoother and better movements

New center shock:
• the shock shaft is extended which makes the center shock longer for better dampening

New servo saver:
• new 4 spring servo saver makes the car more consistent and easier to drive. Makes the car steer more precise

New servo positions:
• two servo positions for allowing to perfectly balance the weight transfer

General

• Super-narrow chassis design and layout with all weight centralized along the centerline
• Chassis and rear pod features pre-drilled centerline holes for optimum weight balance adjustment using HUDY Balancing Tool #107880
• Composite front chassis protectors protect the front of the chassis in crashes
• Robust body posts with fully-adjustable body holders; optional super fine +1 or +2mm body backstops available optionally for even more super-fine body height adjustment
• Tiny, ultra-flat composite battery holders keep batteries in place

Front suspension:

Steering:
• Chassis features predrilled holes for the servo mounts on both left and right side which allows the placement of the servo to balance the car as necessary
• Super-tiny yet robust steering blocks with specially-designed axles which prevent axle spinning while tightening the wheel locking nuts
• Pivoting front suspension with super-smooth hardened steel kingpins supported by soft springs; optional medium, hard, and extra-hard suspension springs available as options
• Aluminum servo mounts position servo flat on the chassis to ensure lower possible center of gravity
• Tiny yet robust servo saver with easy Ackermann adjustment via shims mounted below pivot balls
• New 4-spring servo saver makes the car steer more precisely and smoothly
• New specially-designed narrow composite ball joints
• Adjustable, super lightweight Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum turnbuckles

Rear pod:
• Compact and ultra-lightweight rear pod constructed from high-strength aluminum bulkheads, rear aluminum brace, and strong high-grade 2.5mm graphite plates
• Rear pod bulkheads CNC-machined from premium extra-hard Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, additionally black coated for long life and stylish look
• Rear bulkheads are strategically machined to reduce weight to minimum while retaining strength
• New rear bulkheads are lowered for easy ride height adjustment and lowered CG
• Premium-grade graphite upper deck provides solid attachment for shock absorber to rear pod
• Super-easy motor top access
• Rear pod accommodates brushed or brushless motors
• Eccentric composite bushings included for ultra-fine rear ride height adjustment
• Rear differential features high-grade precision carbide balls for spur gear, hardened and precision-ground D-steel shims, and premium carbide 3x8mm axial thrustbearing
• Newly-designed rear differential has a new way of combining the steel axle with the graphite axle for increased durability

Rear suspension:
• Aluminum rear hubs machined from lightweight aircraft aluminum, specially lightened and black coated for stylish look
• Super-lightweight rear axle made from 1-piece high-grade graphite rod, additionally precision hand ground to eliminate vibration and run-out
• Lightweight rear wheel mounting screws for reduced rotating weight
• Rear left aluminum wheel hub with center-balanced clamping mounting system, ensures secure mounting while eliminating vibration and run-out
• Easy rear track-width adjustment via included shims

Shocks:
• XRAY micro shock with similar design as it’s “big brother” counterpart in XRAY’s successful T3 touring car platform
• Fully-adjustable shock with aluminum shock body hard-anodized for ultra durability and additionally black coated for stylish look
• Fine-threaded shock body for quick and easy shock spring preload adjustment
• Tiny thin shock membrane gives super-smooth dampening characteristics
• Super-soft silicone shock O-ring for smooth operation while preventing oil leakage
• Ultra-finely finished shock shaft with precise-molded composite shock piston ensures optimum shock oil flow and smooth shock absorber action
• Simple yet smart shock construction allows for quick and easy shock-length adjustment for downstop adjustment
• Shock position adjustment via shimming of HUDY Spring Steel™ shock ball studs
• Rear pod side balance is controlled by side tubes which give equalized lateral damping in both directions and eliminates unwanted rebound
