Duratrax Tires Team driver, Ben Burtle scores TQ in both PRO Nitro 1/8 buggy and 1/8 Electric buggy. He also takes the Win in PRO Nitro 1/8 Truggy and 1/8 E buggy.

The race took place on December 29-30th at popular Hurricane R/C located in Lutz, FL.

1/8 E Buggy was an uphill battle to TQ. There were 3 large full heats of buggies to compete against from fast drivers from all over. With only a few minutes on the track for practice, round one Ben managed 4th place overall. The second round, with a little time on the track, he put down a stellar run placing almost a lap over the field landing him in 1st with a TQ run. Starting in poll position running Duratrax Xcons in C3 compound he dominated the A main placing him in 1st place.

PRO 1/8 Nitro Buggy was challenging competing with drivers like JR Mitch, Gene Hickerson, Ryan Eckert and Leon McIntosh just to name a few. With no practice time, he chose to run Duratrax Xcon C3 tires and he proved to be a threat placing 2nd overall behind JR Mitch. The second qualifier Ben dominated the field and took TQ away from JR Mitch. In the main, JR Mitch and Ben Burtle pulled away from the pack. They were both looking to have a great battle. Unfortunately, the clips on Ben’s body came off causing him to lose a two laps pulling in the pits and replacing the body with an unexpected pit stop. This put Ben in last place and during the 30 minute A main. Ben battled back up to finish in 4th position in this very competitive PRO 1/8 Buggy A main.

PRO 1/8 Nitro Truggy was a sure TQ for Ben. The first qualifier Ben made an easy 1st place overall. However, with a mishap in the second qualifier, he lost his TQ to land 2nd behind Gene Hickerson. This placed him in the 2nd spot to start the A main. This time he chose to run the Duratrax Posse C3 tires. In the main Ben had a back and forth battle with Tony Brown but after a few minutes Ben put on a show and pulled away and lapping second place. Ben ended up 3 laps up on second place winner Gene Hickerson winning the event in 1st place.
