The Reedy Truck Race of Champions has become one of the premier racing events in the country thanks to the hard work and dedication of Jimmy Babcock and the Hot Rod Hobbies crew. Thankfully, early October temperatures in Saugus, California made for a comfortable weekend of racing for the nearly 150 entrants.
The prestigious modified 2WD and 4WD short course truck classes featured a field of the of the top West Coast pros including Reedy factory drivers Carson Wernimont and Kody Numedahl.
The Pro 2 Modified SC class was all Kody Numedahl and his Reedy-powered Factory Team SC10. Starting from the pole position thanks to his top-qualifying performance, Kody went on to win A-Main legs one and two in convincing fashion to claim the title. Wernimont joined Numedahl on the podium with a third place finish overall.
Carson Wernimont had to battle a little bit harder than Numedahl on the way to his victory in the Pro 4 Modified SC class. A win in A-Main leg two and consistent finishes in legs one and three were all that Carson needed for the win. Sometimes consistency is as important as speed and Reedy power provided solid drivability and feel.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants and special thanks to the Hot Rod Hobbies staff for organizing another spectacular event.
