“The King”, Richard Saxton, put in some work last weekend at The Dual, taking the overall win in the 40+ 1/8 Scale and 1/8 Scale E-Buggy.
Pro-Line Raceway in Banning, CA and Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, CA both hosted an event unlike any other. Instead of the typical qualifying and main event format utilized at nitro races, racers competed head to head in six races spread out over two days on two completely different tracks. Drivers scored points for their finishing positions, with their best two finishes at each track used to determine their overall finishing position.
Saxton would be dominant in the E-Buggy class with his Reedy-powered RC8.2e, taking the win with a perfect score. In the 40+ Nitro Buggy Class, he would put on a clinic and take the overall win in round 5, sitting out the final round of racing to watch. Congrats to Mr. Saxton for an excellent performance!
