2011 ROAR 1:10 Electric Off Road National Championship NorCal Hobbies – Union City, CA
August 9 – 14, 2011
Since its introduction in 2009, Short Course racing has taken over the local tracks and brought new people in to the hobby with its scale realism and enhanced durability. Team Associated has been the leader in this class at the races and proved it again at the R.O.A.R. National Championships. Team Associated/Reedy/LRP driver Ryan Maifield claimed his second consecutive 2WD Short Course Modified National Championship with the Factory Team SC10, which remains undefeated in National Championships, claiming all five possible titles.
Maifield drove a flawless event, taking the top qualifying position in three of the four rounds of qualifying and winning the first two A-Main events. Equipped with Reedy batteries, LRP speed control and motor, and topped off with JConcepts tires and body, Ryan’s package proved to be the combination to beat all weekend long. Joining Maifield in the victory circle was Danny Stojakovic with his SC10 in the 2WD Short Course 17.5 No Timing category.
With two National Championship events to its credit, NorCal Hobbies in Union City, CA is quickly putting itself on the map as one of the premier facilities in the nation. A full service hobby shop, indoor pitting, and on-site snack shack put the finishing touches on a great event and track.
