The Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series, now in existence for over 20 years, has become one of the premier series in North America. For 2012-2013, the series included six rounds and visited tracks in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. With three out of six results counting towards each driver’s points total, a good result in each round was critical in securing a class championship.
In the 13.5 World GT class, Reedy factory driver Korgae Scales came out strong by scoring maximum points in the first three rounds. This put the pressure on his competitors and when no driver was able to score maximum points in round four, Korgae sewed up the championship with two rounds remaining.
In addition to his World GT title, Korgae scored maximum points in three round wins to claim the 10.5 1/12 Super Stock class championship. Like in World GT, Korgae came out strong by scoring maximum points in the first two rounds. Maximum points in round five sealed the deal with one round remaining.
Congratulations to the WCICS, host clubs, and participants for creating a prestigious, highly competitive, and enjoyable racing series.
