Yes, be prepared. I know your first (and maybe ONLY question) is “For what?”.
I am building the XV-01 Rally Car for a review in the next issue of RC Driver. It’s a pretty cool car, complete with AWD, sealed electronics box and internal fenders. It took me about 3 hours to build; it’s a pretty easy project. That includes mounting the electronics and gluing tires. But that’s not the ‘be prepared’ part…
What you need to be prepared for is the amount of time it takes to prep the bad-ass Subie body! Masking (which was actually quite easy), painting and decaling took about 4 1/2 hours! Yes, 4 1/2 hours, which equates to 270 minutes or 16200 seconds (I’d do milliseconds but I certainly don’t have enough fingers and toes). That’s a lot of time, but man it came out awesome! I don’t even want to drive this thing now. Sorry Tamiya…shelf queen.
Of course that’s not going to happen, so stay tuned for a full write-up in the next issue of RC Driver Magazine.
Cool I have been itching to see some reviews on this new car. Especially with the forward motor now and how it handles.
We will have a review and additional pictures soon! It’s a pretty cool car. Can’t wait to drive it!
Well where is the review?
Hi.
The review will be online in a bit. Since it will also be appearing in the next issue of RC Driver magazine, I can’t post it online first. Once it appears in the mag I’ll get it on here.
