RC Suspension Tuning Guide – Slipper Clutch

RC Tuning -Slipper Clutch

What is a Slipper Clutch?
The Slipper Clutch is tuning tool used only in offroad. It is illegal to race with a Slipper Clutch in onroad.

The Slipper Clutch system uses a spring to apply tension to a pair of pads that regulate the amount of slip the drivetrain has. The more you compress the spring, the tighter they system and the less slip there will be. The more you loosen the spring, the more slip there will be.

Tuning with the Slipper Clutch
Looser Slipper Clutch
• Slower throttle response
• Heavier rotational parts (slower acceleration)
• More forgiving to drive
• More controlled tire spin
• Best for low traction tracks

Tighter Slipper Clutch
• Faster throttle response
• Lighter rotational parts (faster acceleration)
• Requires more throttle control
• Best for high traction tracks
