CompetitionX – The List – December 2022

CompetitionX - The List - December 2022

Welcome to the December 2022 edition of The List, the final The List for the year. Being the last month of the year, we were a little light on new products (everyone trying to push out the current stuff), however we were graced with 7 cool things last month (only 5 on The List though).

So, without further ado, the Top 5 items released in the final month of 2022!

1. MR33 Drivetrain Checker
MR33 Drivetrain Checker | CompetitionXThe first item on the list is the MR33 Drivetrain Checker. This item can be used to check the FDR (Final Drive Ratio) on Spec-class cars, ensuring everyone is within a ‘Spec’ gearing rule. It does this by monitoring the maximum motor RPM, done by attaching the 7mm wrench on any drive wheel on your car. It is a bit pricey, but we feel this is great tool for Spec-class racing and deserves a spot on this month’s The List.

2. PROTOform Speed3 FWD TC Clear Body
PROTOform Speed3 FWD TC Clear Body | CompetitionXFWD TC’s are starting to make a comeback with a lot of onroad manufacturers releasing their versions of the platform. PROTOform, who usually picks up early on booming trends, has launched the Speed3 FWD TC body. This body somewhat mimics the MazdaSpeed3 – low front hood, hatchback styling and large rear wing. It comes clear, includes window masks and a detailed sticker sheet and is designed to fit most standard FWD cars. Great looks, ‘speedy’ design and a great price, this body checks all 3 boxes to get it on this month’s The List.

3. RC4WD 4×4 Wrecker Flat Bed Hydraulic Tow Truck
RC4WD 4x4 Wrecker Flat Bed Hydraulic Tow Truck | CompetitionXThe RC4WD 4×4 Wrecker Flat Bed Hydraulic Tow Truck is, by far, the most scale RC Tow rig on the market – hands down. This thing is chock full of detail, from the front light grilles to the mirrors, flip-forward hard-body cab, opening side bays, stunning wheels and retracting tow bed, the list of features is longer than Santa’s naughty list. It’s not cheap, but if you want the Tiffany of RC rigs, this baby is it! Really. Go check it out, and get that MasterCard ready.

4. Beat1Lab Motor EP1 Motorcycle
Beat1Lab Moto EP1 Motorcycle | CompetitionXIf riding on 2 wheels is your thing, you might want to check out the new Moto EP1 Motorcycle from Beat1Lab. This new bike is designed for racing and features a low CoG chassis, efficient chain drive setup, aluminum forks, front brake disc and a bottom-load system for easy battery changes. Best thing about this bike – it comes as an RTR unit with all the radio and electronics already installed! This makes it easy to get up and running with the power tailored to the performance of the bike! We actually love the idea and definitely have this on our to-get list for 2023!

5. 1RC Racing 1/18 Asphalt Modified Racer
1RC Racing 1/18 Asphalt Modified Racer | CompetitionXIn any scale, 1RC Racing’s new asphalt modified racer would be a huge hit. However, in 1/18 scale, it makes it a downright must have! Available as an RTR, it comes with a stunning exterior look including narrow modified-look body set, windshield and exposed air cleaner. But it’s not just a pretty face on the outside – 1RC Racing has given this car a cool ‘caged’ interior area complete with window netting, protective front, rear and a side ‘bumpers’, an independent suspension system and a beautiful wheel/tire combo. A sure winner for those with limited space, making it a shoe-in for this month’s The List!
