Welcome to the December 2014 edition of The List. There wasn’t the typical deluge of new product during this Holiday season, however there were a few cool releases that I thought you might want to revisit.
1. Team Associated RC10 Worlds Roller
The RC10 Worlds car has been a major seller in Team Associated’s ‘vintage’ series, but they took this kit one step further by offering it as a rolling chassis. Hand-built in house by the AE staff, these cars are meticulously assembled; the result being a car that World Champ Brian Kinwald would be proud to call his own. All you have to do is drop in some electronics, slide on some rollers and paint and mount the body and you’re ready to hit the track in style. I’m trying to work it in to get one of these for my collection and for some vintage racing I’ll be doing.

2. Saxo Racing Adjustable Body Mounts
To some, this may not be a major deal, but I see some big promise for those drift and rally guys that need to fine tune their body’s height to get that just-right stance! Typical body mounts let you choose the height in 3-3.5mm increments; great for a general raising or lowering of the body, but if you’re looking for a 1-2mm drop, you’re just not going to get it without some modification to the body mounts or a stack of spacers. Saxo Mounts allow you to adjust in much smaller increments, allowing you to achieve a perfect body height. I have a set of these on my drift car and they work incredibly well.

3. Proline Racing Prime VTR Slick Tires
I remember back in the day when we used to Dremel the nubs off of tires on clay tracks. I learned quickly that modifying these tires in a white shirt was not the greatest idea! Enter Proline’s Prime tire, a pre-slicked tire that allows drivers to simply mount and go – no Dremeling needed. Man would I have loved to have these, but with today’s tracks moving more and more to a carpet-like surface, I’ll be there will be a lot of happy drivers that won’t be ruining their white shirts.

4. Muchmore Racing Skinny LED Pit Light
Pit lighting has come a LONG way from when I started racing. Early on, I used to use a ‘portable’ Ott light. It was a great light but a bit bulky and only added decent lighting. That was put on the shelf when Muchmore released their thin, 12V LED Folding Pit light that was great, but the stand was a little wonky and you had to have a power supply to make it work. Now, Muchmore has downsized their famous LED light with the addition of this SUPER-skinny, LED Slim Light. It still requires a power supply to work, but it’s a much more compact (see what I did there) while still putting out some major light. I’ve already got mine on order…

5. AVID RC Aluminum Spring Cups
I’ve only had issues with my spring cups popping off one or two times during my 1/10 racing career, but I know others that have this issue on a daily basis. AVID’s Aluminum Spring Cups almost completely eliminate this issue by adding a little angle to the input slot. Such a simple yet brilliant idea. Everyone should have these on their rides!
