The List – January 2016

The List - January 2016

Welcome to the January 2016 edition of The List. This month we’re featuring some vintage, re-released RC as well as a few new items. Let’s take a look…

The List - January 2016 - Team Associated RC10T Clear Truck Body
The List – January 2016 – Team Associated RC10T Clear Truck Body
1. Team Associated RC10T Clear Body
The RC10T was Team Associated’s first stadium truck. It was based on the RC10 buggy and featured suspension, wheel, tire, body and some chassis upgrades. I remember going down to the local hobby shop and putting my deposit down on one of the first ones – my buddy and I were so excited to get it. I can also remember racing this truck for the first time; it was my first race-level vehicle and the truck that got me hooked. Since then, finding parts for that truck has been a little bit difficult, especially the body … until now. Yes, AE has re-released the RC10T body and all I can say is YAY! I’ve got 3 on order – one for practice, one for race and one just because – so I’ll be set for quite a few years since I don’t expect to run it all that much. Thank you AE for putting this mold back under a sheet of Lexan.

The List - January 2016 - Pro-Line 1966 Ford F-100 Body
The List – January 2016 – Pro-Line 1966 Ford F-100 Body
2. Pro-Line 1966 Ford F-100 Body
The next item on The List is also a body, and a vintage one at that. Pro-Line has molded up a stunning replica of a 1966 Ford F-100 designed to work on the Axial SCX10. It’s a half-cab, meaning it’s just the forward half of the truck to be used with Axial’s rear-roll cage section. The detail is awesome, both in the body and the stickers, and once mounted looks really good, especially the wrap-around front windshield. I’ve been working on a SCX10 build and, since this body came out, decided to change the loadout slightly to accomodate a more ‘vintage’ truck. This body, I’m sure, will spark a whole new level of builds that don’t reflect the present, but more vintage-style builds.

The List - January 2016 - HPI Venture
The List – January 2016 – HPI Venture Toyota FJ Cruiser
3. HPI Venture Toyota FJ Cruiser
HPI’s line up is about to get a major hit in the gotta-have department, starting with the awesome new Venture Toyota FJ Cruiser! This rig is beautiful on the outside, the super-scale FJ body coming loaded with a ton of bolt-on features like front and rear bumpers, mirrors, roof rack and a swing-open rear tire carrier. The under-body also sports some awesome-ness with it’s front-mounted gearbox and motor, small, central-mounted transfer case, axles that feature smaller pumpkins for better clearance and top-mounted shocks. It really is a good looking truck and I’m sure you’ll see a ton of them on the trails once they’re released. HPI has also stated that there will be lots of upgrades to support this line. I can’t wait to check one out – I’m in line, on the list and ready to play! Nice job, HPI, and welcome to this month’s The List

The List - January 2016 - RC4WD Licensed Chevrolet Blazer Body
The List – January 2016 – RC4WD Licensed Chevrolet Blazer Body
4. RC4WD Licensed Chevrolet Blazer Body
Yes, it’s another body, but this one is a little different that the first two. This is a licensed Chevrolet Blazer body designed to work with RC4WD’s Trail Finder 2 trail rig. The ‘different’ part is that’s not pulled from a sheet of Lexan – it’s actually injection molded from a hard plastic to give it the ultimate amount of detail! This body comes with chrome-plated parts like bumpers, grille, side mirrors, taillight surrounds and door handles. The front hood is on hinges, allowing you to lift it up; the rear tailgate and window are also on hinges. The bed cap is removeable to gain access to the bed where you can store other scale items and it comes with a full interior. This is a stunning body set and perfect for those scalers that want to add super-detail to their builds. A great addition to this month’s The List!

The List - January 2016 - Tamiya Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS
The List – January 2016 – Tamiya Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS
5. Tamiya Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS
Finally, we have something VERY different! Check out the Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS, a racing semi-rig that sits atop Tamiya’s TT-01 E chassis. It’s certainly bad ass looking with its MAN TGS Lexan shell, semi-racing wheels and tires. I can see a full-blown racing series starting with these trucks, all decked out in different racing liveries. I also love that Tamiya stepped up and released something no one else has, something unique yet fun. I’m in – so, Tamiya, when does mine ship to me?
